Suggest/Discuss/Rate Your "Classic" Match
This is a new idea I want to try to get people to discuss particular "classic" matches that they enjoy. Feel free to suggest a match, discuss your match or another match that was mentioned, or rate a match. Just have fun and discuss. This will be similar to the DVD discussion thread, but for single matches. The matches can be from any promotion.
I'll get us started.
The match I wish to discuss is Cactus Jack/HHH from the 2000 Royal Rumble. This match had it all - underlying the match itself was an intense hatred between the two competitors. There was brawling in and out of the ring, great usage of weapons, brutal spots, and an amazing ending. The match told a great story and really helped solidify HHH as the main man in everyone's eyes. I'd give this match ****1/2 - ****3/4. If you haven't seen it, you need to.

I have two matches to mention.
Bret Hart vs. Chris Benoit in the Owen Hart tribute show in WCW.
And HBK vs. The Undertaker in HIAC at Badd Blood 97.
Exact opposites really. One was a technical masterpiece, the best match between Hart/Benoit, and the other is one of the best HIAC's ever, with a big end, and both matches gave us a spectical. **** 1/2 stars each for me.
What do you guys think of these?

I'm rewatching Taker/HBK right now. I haven't seen it since I ordered the event ten years ago.
Classic Michaels overselling right from the get-go. I love it.

That HIAC is a great match, I love it . The use of the cage was great and yeah HBKs overselling is awesome.
I have Hart/Benoit on my computer, I'm going to have to rewatch it.

Flair/Steamboat - Chi-Town Rumble '89 - In my opinion, the best televised match that the two had (Flair and Steamboat have said they've had better matches on house shows. How incredible would that be? )
Easily ***** and the best match in North American history, just beating out Austin/Bret from Mania 13.

If you ever come across somewhere to download that Mac; please do, I've never gotten to see any of those matches, shamefully,
And Merce, gimmie that Hart/Benoit matchup, as I haven't seen it in ages either.
Another match worth mention though overrated.
Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit - Royal Rumble 03. i$e can do a proper write up of it,

I edited it, go ahead,
To keep on discussion, Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker - No Mercy 2002. A very solid Hell in a Cell, that continued the great rise of Brock Lesnar, with the cast of The Undertaker used well, and the match itself masterful. A great brawl, with a strong ending, the final rise, before Lesnar's 'fall' of sorts with his title loss at SS 02 to Big Show.

Buy the Ric Flair DVD or kill yourself.
Sadly, the Chi-Town Rumble isn't on it but WrestleWar 89 and Clash of the Champions are both on it. Both *****. On top of that, there's even more four star matches on it.
As for Lesnar-Taker, great match that was hurt by the lack of selling on the injured hand. I guess Taker forgot.
Nice veteran.
Still a damned impressive match. ****1/2
I miss Brock.

I'm too busy spending my money on the forum to buy that DVD (I'll request it for X-Mas, )
I believe Lesnar vs. Undertaker had a 'Chain Match' at No Mercy 03 (I remember watching it, not sure exact show), I remember that being a pretty solid contest as well. Lesnar has had good matches with alot of people, a memorable one for me and one (if not) his best in his career, Angle/Lesnar in September 03, 60 Minute Ironman.
