Aussie, TLK and myself scored the debates. Much thanks to Jake for helping in the WRWD debate.
Here they go.
Phenomenal One vs. Haza
Will the Kennedy face turn help to revitalize KK's career?
DDMac: Haza - "Haza wasn't firm enough in his stance of Kennedy towards the end ... but he was still more focused than P1 seemed to be."
Aussie: P1 - “Both debates were well done, but I found P1’s focused more on the side he chose to debate, whereas it seemed towards the end Haza was rebutting his own arguments.”
TLK: Haza - “Although I was a bit unclear on the stance that Haza was taking, I felt P1 focused too much on comparisons that weren't there (the Austin thing).”
Winner: Haza via split decision (***).
______________
RPC vs. J.M.
Who is Mr. WrestleMania? Taker? Hogan? Michaels? Savage? Austin? Hart? McMahon? ???
Aussie: J.M. - "RPC gave great reasons as to why HBK is Mr. Wrestlemania, but Mr. Money in the Bank was not only able to argue the same just as well, but was able to successfully argue why 4 of WWE’s biggest names in history are not. Well done guys."
DDMac: J.M. - “Same points. J.M.'s had more depth. He wins.”
TLK: J.M. - “Similar debates, but Jamie's was more thorough and comprehensive. Good shit by RPC though.”
Winner: J.M. via unanimous decision (***1/2).
______________
RYAN vs. Nickster vs. Metal X
Is there such thing as luck in Mixed Martial Arts?
Aussie: RYAN - "Damn this was a tough one to pick as you all did a great job with this. Ryan’s however just had that little more depth to his debate so gets my vote for this one."
DDMac: RYAN - “Metal X showed something in this debate and he's shown that he's not gonna lay down and be a jobber to the 'stars'. However, RYAN was RYAN, and by putting his points together in terrific fashion, with solid flow, he gets the duke.”
TLK: RYAN - “Great showing by all three. I was especially impressed by Metal X's debate, as he raised some good points about luck outside of the Octagon. However, I think RYAN did a good job countering those points by offering a strong opposite stance.”
Winner: RYAN via unanimous decision (***3/4).
______________
Striker vs. Tonyholic
Jericho getting involved in the Batista-HBK feud; a complete waste of time?
Winner: Striker via no show.

Transglobal Contender's Match: *
Jake vs. Brye
The ending to the 4/28/08 edition of Monday Night RAW: Creative? Stupid?
Aussie: Brye - "Argh you have no idea how close I was to copping out and deciding a draw.

Both are excellent and I enjoyed reading them. I’m giving young Brye my vote because while both arguments were similar, Brye added a few extra to his and made for a well rounded debate."
DDMac: Draw - “I was gonna pick a winner, because I felt that I owed it to the competitors to attempt to give some closure ... but in the end, I simply said 'fuck that' and went with the draw. Two incredibly strong debates, all going towards the same point, with different measures. Even.”
TLK: Draw - “The debates were very similar, and both hit on key points that the other didn't. Jake touched upon the fact that Regal's heel heat can be used to get an upcoming babyface over. That is key. However, Brye touched upon the television ratings aspect, which I felt was also big. Triple threat for the TG title with these two and DZ? I like it.”
Winner: Brye via majority decision (****).

Disposable Zero vs. MoveMent
America's Presidential Election Process: Good the way it is? Or should the true majority rule ('popular vote')?
Aussie: Draw - "I’ve been sitting on this one for 3 days now and I still can’t make a decision.

Both were very well set out and both were strong debates. I hate copping out like this, but I simply cannot pick one. Sorry.

"
DDMac: MoveMent- “DZ didn't put his usual strong foot forward and it showed up against a strong debate from MoveMent. Surprised the jungle bunny could put the chicken down long enough to post a debate. Good stuff.”
TLK: MoveMent - “I was very impressed by both debates. MoveMent did a good job raising the issue of who is voting, and gave some examples to back it up, giving him the edge. I thought that both should have offered a way to correct the system. Opportunity missed there.”
Winner: MoveMent via majority decision (****1/4).

MMA Championship Match:
Diesel vs. NCIH
Dana White has asked you to come up with a new rule with the goal of stopping 'boring fuckin' fights'. What is your proposal? Consider logical implementation, practicality and fairness.
DDMac: Diesel - “Fuck me. Shouldn't have used my draw so early.

I'm tempted to give the debate to NCIH due to Diesel's rather loose interpretation of rules, but his debate was just too good to simply throw out. Mike put up his strongest debate yet; it was thorough, it hit every point it needed to on both sides, and was even better than his debates with RYAN. But Diesel's flow and strong POV was just too much in my estimation.
Aussie: NCIH - “I’ll admit my knowledge of MMA is about as knowledgeable as a cat knowing how to bark (yeah I know, bad analogy

), but I really look forward to reading these debates, mostly because they are some of the best debates posted each show and I know I‘m going to expect a hell of a showing. Ok so enough of my rambling. You both have produced excellent debates as usual. Both ideas were well thought out and explained thoroughly and clearly. I’ve gone with NCIH because not only was he was able to successfully outline why his idea was practical and something that should be implemented, but he was also able to point out the flaws to his ideas and then counter them, covering all his bases. Awesome job guys.

”
TLK: Diesel - “Awesome debate. I really enjoyed reading both of these. They were both convincing. Diesel threw the swerve by saying no rule was needed. Even though that wasn't what the topic asked for, he convinced me that MMA is about more than just entertainment. However, in that same regard, NCIH did an awesome job convincing me that a rule would indeed help a 'boring fight.' In essence this is a draw, but the champ retains in that case. Good shit by both.”
Winner: Diesel via split decision. Diesel RETAINS the MMA Division Championship (****3/4).

WRWD Championship; Triple Threat Match:
The Lady Killer (c) vs. Brandon vs. Pac
The Fatal Four Way Match at Backlash - The belt needs to come off the current WWE Champion, Randy Orton. Who should leave the building as the champion? Triple H? JBL? Cena?
The champion, The Lady Killer, chooses who debates what.
Aussie: TLK - "This was incredibly hard to choose. The amount of times I typed in Brandon, then deleted it and replaced it with Pac, deleted that for Greg, then back around again a few times was ridiculous, but it’s a title match so no cop outs…not to mention Mac would kill me if I chose a three way draw.

Brandon, this was without a doubt your best debate by far and arguing in favour of JBL wouldn’t have been easy but you did it extremely well. Pac, you had it easier with HHH and you used it to your advantage and produced an excellent debate. Greg’s however just had that little bit more strength to his which got him over the line this time. An incredible debate from the current champ."
DDMac: TLK - “Controversy ensues~! Or at least that's how it looked from the beginning. Brandon came up with a strong debate ... Pac basically countered it with a strong debate, though barely within the 'rules' ... but Greg made both debates, and moral complaints, irrelevant by showing why he's the champ. Tremendous debates, but TLK's was just -- what's that word? Oh. -- better.”
Jake: TLK - “Wow - That's really all I have to say. This to me, was a battle of elimination, which was expected considering there was three choices to this debate. I broke this one down into WHO took down the other superstars the best and thoroughly described why their choice was better than the other.
The verdict?
Pac - Well done, well done. Very well put together debate on a very winnable side. You took down JBL and Cena finely and I had to read yours twice to really find the winner on this one. Honestly, best thing you've put together in your stint with TDL. Even though I lost to you, fuck off.
Brandon - Very well put together. You had to work with JBL, who, believe it or not, was the toughest side to work with. Props with the side, but I don't feel it was enough. You did good in convincing me but I couldn't get myself fully into what you were saying. You deserve a multitude of credit for the side and how well you did though. Seriously, very nice job.
TLK - Last but not least, The Champ. I mean really .. well done. Your entire debate flowed well and you basically put the other two opposition superstars (JBL and HHH) on ice. Your arguments and everything weren't flawed and everything seemed spot on. You pretty much took down JBL rather obnoxiously. I found myself completely convinced when I read yours, so with that.
TLK takes this one, just by a bit. But seriously, I didn't think it would be this close as it was. Brandon and Pac almost took The Champ to the limit. But once again, another awesome title debate”
Winner: TLK via unanimous decision (****1/2). TLK RETAINS the WRWD Championship.
