Kurt Angle turned down a reported seven figure deal from Bodog, which would have included multiple fights, but Angle said he only wanted to do one or two fights total - the first, a likely tune-up match, followed by a fight against either Brock Lesnar or Daniel Puder.

In an interview, Angle said he personally called Lesnar trying to put together the match for Bodog. Angle also said that he didn't feel UFC's Dana White respected his gold medal, and claimed that his trainer in Pittsburgh had developed secret techniques that Tito and Chuck don't know that he'd used to beat them if he were ever to face them.
Kurt has a bit of an ego I would say ha ha. Him fighting for real would be sweet though.

Kurt Angle is as world class wrestler but lets be real. It seems now a days people who fight MMA all have some wrestling backgrouds. If angle ever had to fight Liddell or Ortiz he would simply just get destroyed. He can go out there with his olympic background but that can just be thrown out the window when he takes a hook right on the button.

Its funny cause for awhile now Angle has been running his mouth about being able to beat people in MMA and when hes gets offered something he declines. Goes to show yah some people believe there own hype but when called out the hype is gone.

Seriously, pretty much like wrestling back in the 80's, are we experiencing a golden age, as in MMA will change a lot in the next 5-10 years, and it will never be as good as it is now adays? I was watching some clips and it made me think about how good it is now. Is MMA going to soon reach it's apex, and just fall from there?

Yes like all things it will sadly start tu tumble. IMO though I think we still aren't in the golden age yet. In a couple of years we will see MMA grow to new hights and possibly become one of the most popular sports in North America and possibly some what on a global scale. In 10 years though I think it will slowly start to falter and just kind of fade in withg boxing.

I think it's going to reach it's apex in 2009/2010. UFC is a powerhouse and MMA will probably start stealing fans from the dying wrestling fanbase, which hopefully rejuvinates soon.

Anyway, I think fighters like Rampage Jackson are really changing the industry, building cult followings. I think it won't fall yet, but by 2015, it won't be the industry it is now.

I agree with what most of you have said, it isn't the golden age just yet but in a few years we will be. Names like Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz, Brock Lesnar and Fedor Emelyanenko are getting a lot of people into MMA. It isn't only UFC that is getting a lot of fans other MMA places are also taking benefit of the latest craze. I think when Brock Lesnar comes to a bigger stage like UFC he will have a lot of fan support and get new fans into UFC.
