MAIN CARD (TELEVISED)

UFC Heavyweight Title: Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar
Kenny Florian vs. Joe Stevenson
Nick Catone vs. Amir Sadollah
Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Josh Hendricks
Demian Maia vs. Nate Quarry

PRELIMINARY CARD (UN-TELEVISED)

Dustin Hazelett vs. Tamdan McCrory
Jorge Gurgel vs. Aaron Riley
Jeremy Stephens vs. Rafael dos Anjos
Mark Bocek vs. Alvin Robinson
Matthew Riddle vs. Ryan Thomas
Decent overall card. But since it has seriously one of the biggest fights ever put together, the event will definitely still break a million buys.

Lesnar/Couture should be INTENSE.

I'm a fan of Quarry and Florian/Stevenson on the card as well.

I love Lesnar's cocky personality in the Octagon, him winning would put him over the top perfectly, but I think it's a little too much too soon there especially going against Randy Couture.

Stevenson/Florian should be pretty good.

I see Couture winning this and then facing the Mir-Nog winner in 2009. If Lesnar wins this fight, I would not have a problem with that, as it would mirror his WWE run (getting a WWE Title shot within months of being called up to the WWE roster), but all of the MMA purists on Sherdog.com will bash the UFC if Lesnar wins, saying that he's only fought three times in the UFC and is World Heavyweight Champion?

Hell, they are already bashing him because he's getting a title shot after only three fights, but it's good for business, as it may end up getting a lot of buys.

UFC is a business, so I would expect nothing less then to see the most marketable superstars put in the spotlight. Look at Chuck Liddell's career and it's more than obvious he was catered to because he was great for business. That's how Tito Ortiz became big in his career.

True, it's just that some posters over at Sherdog.com say that Brock Lesnar is ruining the UFC because he came over from the WWE and they don't think highly of WWE.

Ruining? He might not be the greatest "talent" in the UFC but he's by far the most main stream guy they could have for the company at this point. If he beats Couture and proves he's up there to be a fitting challenger for the big boys, that's great. He becomes the savior of the Heavyweight Division and people will begin acting like they never doubted him.

But if he losses, we still have Randy Couture here, a possible Fedor fight to look forward to and a whole lot of hype behind the next title fight because Couture would've comeback over a year later to beat the hype machine. It's a win-win situation for Dana and subsequently the UFC.

A win over Couture would mean that unlike Kimbo Slice, Lesnar is living up to the hype.

Bringing Couture back added to a UFC Heavyweight Division that had been weakened when he left and Arlovski and Sylvia left as well.

Outside of the main event and K-Flo vs. Joe Daddy this is a pretty meh card. They did not really have to stack it though cause with the main event there are obviously going to be a huge amount of buys. Should be interesting to see if Amir was not just a one trick pony with his nice TUF run and Maia vs. Quarry should be FOTN hopefully. Gonzaga should have got a tougher fight as well and McLovin should be on the main card.
