I myself am a major Carlito mark and it's good to see he still has some fans scattered somewhere.
 As for your question I prefer Carlito as a heel because he is just better at being one plain and simple. He has the talent to pull off a good heel but we haven't seen much of his heel side because of the WWE holding him back and not really giving him his time to shine. We've seen from the past what he is capable of doing as a heel. From his debut till the end of 2005 we saw him give some great heel performances and drawing major heat from crowds and fans overall. He's reactions were really awesome and you can see some of his early videos online to prove it. Things like insulting the crowd, boasting himself and all the stuff a typical heel would do, but he did it in a very strong and believable way. It's unfortunate that the WWE doesn't give him the option anymore as they have basically dropped him from ever going anywhere in the company because he is a great heel and character, but that's pro wrestling for you. His time during face wasn't as bad as people have said, he had probably the biggest success in his career as he approached main event status with big pops from crowds and high profile matches but it all went downhill after he got buried by Orton at Unforgiven. So his face run wasn't terrible but not needed and if his face run never happened I predict his current status wouldn't be as cruddy. So overall Carlito was meant to be a heel and he obviously enjoys it more then a babyface as he's stated before. He has all the potential in the world with his character to go places in the company but his poor relationship with the company and being on a clusterfuck roster is holding him back. Hopefully he goes to Smackdown and does the whole heel run every week with real promos, feuds and hopefully a lot of Cabana's. |
